CHIASMUS
TWO SINGLE CHANNEL VIDEO PROJECTIONS AND CUSTOM SCREENING SPACE, 60:00 MINUTES, LOOPED
Chiasmus consists of two, looped, hour-long videos sharing a single audio track. The videos depict two one-shots over a sculptural set, describing six ten-minute long 360° pans, one tracking from right-to-left and the other left-to-right. Sixty distinct changes occur in the set between each pan.
The two videos are synched such that each screen displays a different pan. The projections share a single soundtrack consisting of music, phone interviews, encyclopedic definitions, stories of family members whose eyes were plucked out by birds, historical and contemporary events and the familial transmission of fears.
Chiasmus is presented looped and viewing may begin at any point in the video. The following link is of the full left-to-right video.
